About NNOS
NNOS is the acronym for National Network for Organ Sharing. It was started January in 2005.
A Group of public-spirited people have come together to pioneer this non-profit trust with the objectives of establishing an organ transplantation network in India.
Every year, a few thousands of lives are saved by transplant surgery in this country.
Sadly, thousands more are lost waiting for organs that would have transformed their lives.
Besides, living organ sales, in contravention of the law of the land, also get reported. This is because cadaveric transplantation - using organs of dead persons - is at a low level in India.
In India, the biggest problem facing the transplant community is the shortage of cadaveric donor organs, due to lack of utilization of the available cadaver organs (from brain dead persons).
NNOS was created to help the process of increasing cadaveric transplantaions so that more lives can be saved.

The meaning behind the logo
The components of our logo consist of the organization's acronym and an icon.
In the acronym NNOS, ‘O’ is in the form of a circle represented by two arrow marks which symbolizing the wheel of life. The arrow in dark green signifies the end, while light green marks a new beginning.
Colour
Green is used as the dominant colour for the font and the icon, because it symbolizes life and renewal. It is the colour of healing, hope and freshness.
The Icon
This symbol represents transcending human boundaries, rising above human expectations to donate life to others. Life passed on from one individual to the other.
A dot represents gift of god, the dot in the symbol signifies life and this is passed on from one to many others.
The out stretched hand symbolizes a united effort in a system where each member pledges to come together for the purpose of saving lives through organ sharing. The symbol is framed within a square. The square mainly signifies integrity and impartiality, which is the core principle of NNOS.
